How My Journey Into SEO Began

Armed with a BA in Humanities, I left Italy and moved to London (UK) at the age of 23. With very little knowledge of the English language, I started working as a waiter in a Japanese restaurant to be able to make enough money to make a living and learn how to speak English. It’s during late nights and the one weekly day off I had at the time that I found my passion for SEO and all things digital.

From there, I decided to upskill my knowledge of marketing and joined a master’s degree in Marketing Communications. Once completed, I got my first job as an SEO professional in a startup operating in the financial and crypto trading industry.

During the following 6+ year experience in the SEO industry, I’ve been lucky enough to have:

  • worked at Mindshare, agency part of GroupM/WPP and one of the largest media agencies in the world. Clients I’ve managed their SEO account for include: Apple, Legal & General, Warburtons and Yorkshire Building Society
  • led the SEO function and helped generating millions in revenue for two of largest British household names: Virgin Media and Marks and Spencer
  • started my own SEO freelance business, supporting small and medium eCommerce businesses to supercharge their traffic in search engines as well as providing 1-to-1 digital training to professionals and businesses who want to upskill their SEO game and get their websites in front of their audiences in search engines.

If I were to describe myself in three words?

Quick Thinking

If there is something that makes me excited is navigating fast-paced environments. You can often find me brainstorming with people, while searching for new ways to challenge the status quo. The harder the problem to solve, the better!

Strategic

I rarely chase the quick wins: only when they are strictly necessary to achieve a bigger plan. I tend to work towards long term goals in a quest for meaningful relationships and projects, both in my personal life and career.

Data-Driven Creative

Most people would consider creativity and data to be opposites. That's not what I believe. I strive every day to find the right balance between intuition and numbers and I put that combo in any projects I'm involved in.
